Nexus Family Healing is seeking an experienced Clinical Director to lead trauma-informed clinical services within our residential treatment program serving youth and adolescents with complex behavioral health needs in Baltimore, MD. Nexus Family Healing is located on a historic site in the heart of Baltimore, Maryland, that has been helping kids in need for over 200 years, originally as an orphanage in the early 1800s. In 2012, Nexus Family Healing affiliated with this location, bringing our innovative trauma-informed practices to the youth of Baltimore. This location includes programs for youth and teens with emotional, behavioral and mental health or sexually problematic behaviors, a diagnostic center, a vocational program, a school and treatment foster care for ages 0-21.

Primary responsibilities: Program Management & Administration
- Provides program management and administration onsite and within the organization through a trauma-informed care lens.
- Develops, grows, and drives clinical programs and programming consistent with Trauma-Informed clinical best practice, community needs and organization directives.
- Initiates, identifies, and analyzes potential or current problems or risk factors at the agency and generates alternative sound decisions.
- Maintains responsibility for development and monitoring of admission and discharge criteria.
- Provide strategic oversight of clinical operations, including budget management, program policies, referrals, admissions, discharges, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Ensure compliance and program excellence by maintaining current policies and procedures, implementing Nexus treatment philosophies, and meeting all regulatory and safety requirements.
- Lead and develop clinical staff through recruitment, performance evaluation, coaching, training, and ongoing professional development.
- Foster a safe and supportive treatment environment by resolving conflicts, partnering with youth and families, and promoting physical and emotional safety across all program settings.
- Maintain professional and therapeutic standards by establishing appropriate boundaries with clients and families and using strengths-based, respectful communication.
- Ensure compliance and accurate documentation by adhering to licensing requirements, incident reporting procedures, and organizational policies and standards.
- Support client care and team collaboration through active participation in staff meetings, advocacy for client needs, crisis response, and incident management when necessary.
- Demonstrate leadership, flexibility, and professionalism by remaining current on required training, adapting to changing needs, and representing the agency in partnership with executive leadership.
- Master's degree in Social Services, Psychology or clinically related field required.
- Maryland: Professional licensure as LCPC, LCSW, or LCSW-C.
- Experience in adolescent, adult, and family-based behavioral counseling and/or residential experience required.
- Must successfully pass a DHS/DCFS/CJIS/DHHS/ODHS or other federal and state criminal background check
- All client-facing Nexus employees must successfully participate and complete a Safety Crisis Management (SCM) exam and training
- Valid driver's license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Home Office driving requirements
- Experience in residential setting and/or other acute mental health setting(s).
- Experience in Trauma-Informed Treatment Modalities.
- Experience working with youth and families facing acute mental health needs.
- Experience working with individuals from diverse cultural, social, and religious backgrounds.
- Licensure preferred (may be requirement dependent on operational demand)
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls.
- The employee is required to stand, and/or walk.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
