Material Planner

Material PlannerCACI is seeking a Material Planner to join our Supply Chain team in San Antonio, TX. The Material Planner will work cross functionally with the operations team to execute procurement functions and source components to support the production schedule. This individual will work with the project managers and engineers to purchase custom technical components and report on schedule to company leadership.Responsibilities:Responsible for material procurement of new and existing products within a Tier 1 ERP systemManaging, reporting, and forecasting material cost/performance of assigned program(s)Expedite material as needed to support the production schedule of products, assemblies, and subassemblies through close coordination with Program Management and ManufacturingWork directly with materials and manufacturing personnel to communicate procurement delivery schedules along with real and potential shortagesPoint of contact for contract and internal manufacturers, managing aspects including transfer of manufacturing information, material procurement and end of life, resolution of quality issues, return material authorizations, and material disposition.Work closely with site leadership to determine optimal inventory levels and order quantitiesReview of all Purchase orders, requisitions and quotes for applicability, correctness, complianceIdentifying and managing program risks and opportunities as they pertain to material requirementsAnalyzing lead times and identifying critical path procurementsManaging on time req release, PO placements, and PO delivery dates to maintain program scheduleMonitoring and addressing supplier capacity and/or production issuesInterfacing/collaborating with other functions of the program team including but not limited to contracts, finance, engineering, operations, quality, scheduling, etc.Developing and understanding the proposal/execution strategy and structuresPresenting Supply Chain during program management reviews (PMRs) and leadership briefings (internal/external)Maintaining a strong business acumen and ability to operate in a fast-paced production environmentSupport proposal activity with bill of material costing and lead time analysisAssist with evaluation, auditing and management of new and existing sources of supplyManage master data to maintain MRP system accuracyQualifications:Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years related experience in a MRP manufacturing environment or related technical discipline with an equivalent combination of skills, education and experienceExperience in materials planning, sourcing or procurement in a production environmentProduct lifecycle experience in manufacturing and PLM database knowledge desirableUnderstanding engineering and manufacturing bills of material and drawings, BOM structures, manufacturing test and quality control processes.Ability to manage and exceed at delivering on multiple high priority tasksStrong team collaboration and analytical skills with ability to execute and follow-through on tasks to completionSuperior organization skills, accuracy, attention to detail and a high degree of initiativeDemonstrated working knowledge of MRP purchasing, Outlook and Excel (vlookup, pivot tables) including spreadsheet creation, calculation and reportingFamiliarity with AS9100 or similar quality management systemsStrong oral verbal and written communications skillsAdaptable to growth and continually evolving requirementsWhat You Can Expect:A culture of integrity.At CACI, we place character and innovation at the center of everything we do.
