PHARMACY TECHNICIAN

Applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible***This position is assigned to the Pharmacy Division, located at Casa Grande Transitional Housing (CGTH), in Las Vegas. Pharmacy Technicians work under general supervision of a licensed pharmacist and process prescriptions and provide technical support services to professional pharmacists. Incumbents transcribe orders and list available data such as patient unit, age, sex, diagnosis, allergies, drug history, and medication information; record transactions in patient profile to comply with recordkeeping requirements mandated by State and federal laws; measure and fill patient medications; prepare labels in accordance with State laws and accreditation standards; inspect drug storage areas; check medication rooms on units to comply with accreditation requirements; check unit emergency boxes to verify that locks are intact; check for outdated drugs to ensure compliance with federal and State regulations and other tasks as needed and consistent with the pharmacy operations.Pharmacy Technicians process prescriptions and practitioners' orders and provide support services to pharmacists.Essential QualificationsOne or more years of applicable experience as described in the job duties and current licensure as a Pharmaceutical Technician issued by the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy.Job DutiesObtain and prepare prescription orders and review for errors or incomplete information.Transcribe orders and record data in patient profiles to meet legal requirements.Sort, stock, and label medications and monitor inventory.Fill medications including floor stock orders.Complete billing forms and record transactions to collect payment.Monitor and inspect drug storage areas.Conduct pharmacy medication room.Maintain and procure inventory and confirm delivery of a variety of items.Ensure activities comply with applicable federal and State laws, regulations, and standards.Perform related duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesThis class specification lists the major knowledge, skills and abilities of the job and is not all inclusive.
