Senior iOS Developer

Salary: $132,000 - 172,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in computer science or computer engineering; a degree in electrical engineering, mathematics, or a related field may also be considered.
• We require at least five years of native iOS development experience and strong Swift skills.
• We require a solid understanding of mobile architectures such as MVP, MVVM, and VIPER, as well as concurrency using async/await, Dispatch, and Combine.
• We require experience creating custom, pixel-perfect user interfaces, using CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, unit testing, and publishing apps to the App Store.
• We require a solid understanding of Apple Developer guidelines and experience with Agile methods such as Scrum and Kanban.
• We value strong time management and ownership of assigned tasks and feature development.
• The role involves frequent speaking, listening, hearing, computer use, presentations, sitting, standing, and reaching with the hands.
• Preferred qualifications include R&D engineering experience related to vehicles, Mercedes-Benz products, or connected mobility; knowledge of infotainment, telematics, digital vehicle services, or Connected Car ecosystems; and experience integrating customer-facing mobile features with backend, cloud, or vehicle systems.
• We also value experience supporting North American market needs, backend development or close collaboration with backend teams, a record of published apps with strong ratings or large user bases, and experience mentoring engineers and improving team delivery practices.

• We design, build, and maintain iOS features for the Mercedes me connect app for North American customers, including experiences across iPhone, Apple Watch, and connected vehicles.
• We lead iOS feature architecture and implementation strategy, coordinating technical direction with product, UX, QA, backend, and global stakeholders.
• We develop Connected Car experiences that connect the mobile app with Mercedes-Benz vehicles, backend services, and the broader digital ecosystem.
• We use knowledge of the North American market to identify customer needs and recommend product improvements in infotainment and connected-car domains.
• We maintain application performance, quality, reliability, security, and responsiveness across supported devices.
• We collaborate with global teams to define, design, deliver, and release features aligned with business priorities and timelines.
• We investigate root causes, resolve incidents, prevent defects, address QA-reported bugs and bottlenecks, and continually improve engineering practices, code quality, maintainability, and test coverage.
• We work with Product and UX Design to clarify acceptance criteria, technical feasibility, customer experience requirements, and story readiness.
• We participate in Scrum refinement and estimation, size work accurately, and deliver stories within agreed timelines.
• We uphold Mercedes-Benz development guidelines and maintain high standards for code, pull requests, and documentation; we break work into reviewable increments and review colleagues pull requests with constructive feedback.
• We support release readiness and App Store publication in accordance with Apple Developer guidelines.
• We contribute to team KPIs and OKRs by delivering prioritized roadmap items and measurable product outcomes, and we conduct competitor benchmarking and customer-experience analysis to recommend improvements.
• We mentor junior developers through code reviews, pairing, shadowing, technical guidance, and best-practice documentation.
• We foster continuous learning, inclusive collaboration, and process improvement, working with colleagues and partners across Germany, India, China, and other Mercedes-Benz development locations.
• We draw on diverse perspectives and cross-functional expertise to improve product quality and customer value.
