Student Assistant

Student Assistant Marketing & Communications supports the USF International Admissions team with activities within and emanating from USF that build awareness and drive student recruitment from global markets to the University of South Florida. Serving in this role is an excellent opportunity to build a portfolio of real-world marketing work, to develop excellent communication skills, and to share your enthusiasm for USF with prospective international students and their families. This position is line managed by the Marketing & Communications Officer, International Admissions.

Responsibilities This position will focus on marketing, design, and communications projects that support the goals and mission of USF World as a whole and specifically International Admissions. Duties and responsibilities may include: Assist in developing and executing marketing strategies that drive international student enrollment and promote a globally friendly campus.

Design digital and printed marketing collateral in response to requests from International Admissions and global markets.

Create content for e-publications and social media channels.

Assist in building email marketing communications for multiple audience profiles.

Support virtual and in-person recruitment events, webinars, and online information sessions.

Contribute to USF brand awareness by representing USF in a professional manner.

Qualifications Minimum: Current degree-seeking student at USF. Special Skills Necessary: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and InDesign – portfolio required. Canva experience – intermediate skills – portfolio required. Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS, or experience formatting content for websites and email campaigns. Exceptional writing and editing skills in English. Detail-oriented with strong project management skills. Self-starter who works independently with limited oversight and meets tight deadlines. Ability to communicate with individuals from a wide range of linguistic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds and understanding international students' needs. Proficiency in a second language other than English is not required, but helpful. Motivated, resourceful, coachable and a student who is excited to share the USF experience with others.
