Registered Veterinary Technician Supervisor

Job Overview VCA Animal Clinic of Parker is currently seeking a full time Registered Veterinary Technician Supervisor to work at our general practice in Parker, CO. Culture is really important to us because we value each person individually. Schedule and Compensation Full-time, flexible. Compensation: $23-$30 per hour based on experience. Responsibilities You will be supporting our leadership team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our patients and clients. You will help direct and grow our team of veterinary technicians. Day to day responsibilities of the technician supervisor include: overseeing technicians and assistants, staff scheduling, hiring and training of new employees, collaborating with doctors, establishing the daily schedule, developing protocols to continually improve the quality of medicine. The individual will also work closely with the Hospital Manager and Medical Director. Directing workflow on the floor Assists in the educational development of technicians and their skills Help with the interview process for potential new hires Technician scheduling Assists in staffing and coverage where needed Assists in basic protocol and standard procedure training Provide opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience Mentoring technicians within the department Working with department doctors to develop protocols to improve the service Ensure that VCA policies, guidelines, and recommendations are implemented by all members of the technical staff. Essential skills for the technician supervisor include: venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication administration, pharmaceutical knowledge, basic radiology skills, anesthesia monitoring, ability to stay calm and multi-task with a high case load, delegating and supervising subordinates, hiring, training and development of staff. Qualifications Prior supervisory experience, organized, flexible, willing to work toward conflict resolution, independent and a team player. Certified or Registered Technician status required.
