Histotechnologist- PRN
Labcorp
Labcorp seeks a histotechnologist for a per diem position at a Nashville hospital. The role involves processing tissue specimens, preparing histopathological slides, performing staining procedures, and maintaining laboratory equipment and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Process human tissue and body fluid specimens for microscopic examination
- Section embedded tissue using microtome and mount sections on microscope slides
- Perform immunohistochemical tests and routine/special staining procedures
- Operate, maintain, and document quality control for manual and automated instruments
- Report accurate test results and document corrective actions as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in chemical or biological science
- 3+ years histotechnologist experience with embedding and cutting
- Ability to accurately read labels and identify colors
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Knowledge of routine histology procedures and equipment
- Histology or ASCP certification preferred
