Are you ready to be the difference?As a Patient Advocate Team Lead, you play a vital role in guiding uninsured hospital patients through the complex landscape of medical and disability assistance. This onsite, hospital-based role places you at the heart of patient financial advocacy—meeting individuals face-to-face, right in their hospital rooms, to guide them through the process of identifying eligibility and applying for financial assistance. Your presence and empathy make a real difference during some of life's most vulnerable moments. The Team Lead provides mentoring to Patient Advocates and communicates with clients to ensure effective functioning of the operation.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage follow up and resolution of complex cases or those requiring the appeals processAct as a mentor for other Patient Advocates and assisting in the training process for new staffBeing a resource for Patient Advocates questions related to process, programs, payers, etc.Escalate any problems or concerns to Supervisor, Regional Director and/or Director of OperationsScreen uninsured hospital patients in an effort to find government programs to cover medical expensesComplete the appropriate applications and following through until approvedDetailed, accurate and timely documentation in applicable Company programs and the hospital systems on all cases workedProvide exceptional customer service skills at all timesParticipate in ongoing trainings in order to apply the content learned in dealings with patients and casesMaintain work queue of patient accounts, as assignedCollaborate with hospital staff, case managers, social workers, financial counselorsAttend assigned meetings with the client as neededAssist in preparation of any reports that will be distributed to the clientProvide mentorship to other advocates as assigned by Project ManagerOther duties as assigned.Qualifications and RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredSome college coursework preferredCase management experience preferredAdaptability when dealing with constantly changing processes, computer systems and government programsExperience working with state and federal programsCritical thinking skillsAbility to maneuver throughout the hospital and patients' rooms for up to 8 hours per dayProficient experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel and OutlookExemplary communication skills, both orally and written, to a variety of individualsAbility to multitask and ability to function and make appropriate decisions in a fast-paced environmentRemote and Hybrid positions require a home internet connection that meets the company's upload and download speed criteria.BenefitsMedical, Dental & Vision Insurance401K (100% match for the first 3% & 50% match for the next 2%)15 days of PTO7 paid Holidays2 Floating holidays1 Elevate Day (floating holiday)Pet InsuranceEmployee referral bonus programTeamwork: We believe in teamwork and having fun togetherCareer Growth: Gain great experience to promote to higher roles
