Learning Management System Coordinator

The Education Excellence unit leads the university’s education strategies and goals and supports educators to engage in transformative learning and teaching practices. The purpose of this role is to administer our learning management system and provide technical services to drive technology-enabled learning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The key responsibilities are not an exhaustive task list of all activities performed or a description of how the work is to be performed.
1. Manage the creation and administration of LMS sites, engaging with Faculty and other cross-campus teams where necessary.
2. Develop and lead innovative LMS-related processes to improve student experience across the university.
3. Design and facilitate training and resources on the use of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and related learning technologies.
4. Manage enquiry systems by which staff receive advice and support on learning technologies including our LMS.
5. Engage with central or cross-campus teams to develop or implement new education technology-related university procedures and systems.
6. Provide expert advice to diverse stakeholders on university policy and procedure related to learning management systems and other digital learning tools.
7. Contribute to the development, implementation, administration and evaluation of educational technology systems and software.
8. Support other initiatives within the Vice President (Education) portfolio as requested.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Education/Qualifications
1. The appointee will have:
a degree with at least four years’ subsequent relevant experience; or
experience and management expertise in learning management systems; or
an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Knowledge and Skills
1. Experience with designing for and/or administering Learning Management Systems (preferably Moodle) and knowledge of their pedagogical applications.
2. Strong familiarity with a range of educational software (e.g. polling tools, digital whiteboards, online collaborative platforms) and their pedagogical applications.
3. Well-developed ability to design and deliver effective training sessions on a range of educational technologies.
4. Demonstrated ability to manage teams and work collaboratively.
5. Well-developed communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
