Clinical Pharmacist
AndHealth
Pharmacy TrainerAndHealth is on a mission to radically improve access and outcomes for the most challenging chronic health conditions, with the goal of making world-class specialty care accessible and affordable to all. We partner with health systems, community health centers and independent practices to remove barriers to care to ensure all people have access to the care they deserve. We are looking for a Pharmacy Trainer to own the ongoing training and development of our pharmacy team members — pharmacists, pharmacy managers, and pharmacy technicians — from the moment they complete new hire orientation through full proficiency and beyond. This role picks up where new hire onboarding ends: building role-based training pathways, delivering hands-on instruction at our specialty and retail pharmacy sites, validating competency, and continuing to develop our team as our services, systems, and partner locations grow. What you'll do in the role:Orientation Training Ownership: Own the training experience for all pharmacy personnel including new hire orientation, and build and maintain distinct, skills-based training pathways for pharmacists, pharmacy managers, and pharmacy technicians/Patient Engagement Specialists across both our specialty and retail pharmacy settings — with defined milestones, timelines, and sign-off criteria that carry each employee from orientation to independent, fully proficient practice.Curriculum Development: Develop and continuously improve training modules, resources, job aids, guides, and quick-reference materials aligned to our SOPs, policies and procedures, and current workflows, maintaining version control and a regular review cadence so content stays accurate as software, payer requirements, and regulations change.Training Delivery: Conduct on-site new hire training at dedicated CHC site and continue to train as needed in-person and remote training through instructor-led sessions, side-by-side coaching at the counter, workflow shadowing, and virtual trainings, and deploy required training modules to all pharmacy personnel, including hands-on proficiency training in PioneerRx, TherigySTM, and Sectyr/Bluesight.Clinical & Operational Competency: As subject matter expert, train staff across the full scope of our pharmacy and specialty operations — specialty workflows including prior authorizations, copay and financial assistance, adherence and clinical monitoring, patient counseling and injection training, and delivery coordination; retail workflows including intake, dispensing accuracy and verification, inventory, sliding fee scale application, and third-party billing; and regulatory requirements including 340B eligibility and purchasing protocols, HIPAA, fraud/waste/abuse, controlled substances, and adhering to state Board of Pharmacy rules.Competency Assessment & Documentation: Administer, score, and document competency assessments and skills validations on the schedule required by our accreditation standards and personnel file requirements, manage the annual and recurring training calendar, track completion, and keep all documentation audit-ready.Launch & Performance Support: Provide on-site training support during new pharmacy launches and service expansions so teams are operationally ready at go-live, routinely visit the CHC sites when not training. This position partners with pharmacy managers to design targeted retraining following errors, near misses, incident tickets, audit findings, or performance concerns.Trainer Development: Develop and support site-based trainers, preceptors, and pharmacy managers to ensure day-to-day training capacity exists at every location and does not depend on a single central resource.Program Measurement & Collaboration: Establish and report training KPIs — time to proficiency, competency pass rates, completion rates, and error trends before and after training — maintain training plans and site schedules in the current project tracker, and coordinate closely with Pharmacy Operations, Compliance, Accreditation, and People/HR to ensure training content reflects current SOPs, URAC and ACHC standards, and industry best practices.Perform any other duties as assigned.Education & Licensure Requirements:PharmD, BS in Pharmacy, or equivalent FPGEC (NABP).Unrestricted pharmacist license in good standing in the state of Ohio, Indiana, or any other state AndHealth does business in.Must be willing to obtain and maintain licenses in multiple states.Other Skills or Qualifications:3+ years of pharmacy practice experience, including direct patient-facing dispensing operations is preferred.Prior experience training, precepting, or developing pharmacy staff is preferred.Specialty pharmacy experience strongly preferred.Retail or community pharmacy experience strongly preferred.Operational use of PioneerRx software is strongly preferred.Experience with TherigySTM or a comparable specialty pharmacy management platform is preferred.Familiarity with URAC and/or ACHC Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation standards is preferred.Familiarity adhering to HIPAA standards in a healthcare setting.Federal drug pricing program (340B) experience is preferred.Experience building training content or curriculum, and comfort with learning management or training-tracking software, is preferred.Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain complex clinical and operational content to a range of learners.Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Comfortable with technology and the ability to adapt to new systems.Must be willing to travel and have reliable transportation. The position may require travel to all CHC pharmacy locations and to headquarters in Columbus, Ohio to support staff training.
