Job Description

Location: Bolingbrook, IL

A growing electrical and construction contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join its preconstruction team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex commercial, industrial, and mission-critical projects while collaborating with experienced project managers, engineers, and field teams.

Responsibilities

Review construction drawings and specifications to develop accurate project estimates
Perform detailed electrical takeoffs for labor, materials, and equipment
Analyze project scope, phasing, and constructability to identify opportunities and potential challenges
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
Prepare complete bid packages, including scope letters and proposal documentation
Participate in project handoff meetings with project management and field personnel
Support ongoing projects by assisting with change orders, pricing requests, and technical questions
Maintain organized estimating files and documentation to support bid accuracy
Develop accurate labor, material, and cost estimates for commercial and industrial electrical projects
Work on multiple bids simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail

Qualifications

Experience estimating commercial or industrial electrical construction projects
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, labor, and installation methods
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience with Accubid or similar estimating software preferred
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent electrical trade experience
Valid driver's license
