Building Enclosure Project Specialist - Kennesaw, Georgia Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions to many of the world’s top-recognized brands and companies, is actively seeking a Building Enclosure Project Specialist to join our Building Science Solutions team. Job Description The Building & Construction division of Intertek houses industry leaders across architecture, engineering and construction disciplines. The Building Science Solutions (BSS) group focuses on building enclosure consulting, commissioning, and field performance testing for new construction and retrofit projects. As a Building Enclosure Project Specialist, you will assist project team members to ensure project success during design and construction phases, with an emphasis on roof consulting and inspection services. This role requires frequent travel, with an estimated 50% travel time. Schedule Full-time, Monday – Friday core business hours (may vary slightly). Key Responsibilities Perform quality assurance observations and monitor construction processes to ensure roofing projects remain compliant with approved drawings, specifications and best-practice or warranty-stated installation procedures. Conduct roofing system construction inspections on site. Assist with other building exterior installation inspections as required. Support roofing and building enclosure field testing. Collaborate with Project Managers on inspections, testing, and investigative projects. Enforce all safety requirements and company policies. Provide exceptional customer service. Review and understand contract requirements; document and obtain authorization for any deviations. Perform construction administration services and site visits. Prepare professionally written field reports. Assist with or perform forensic investigations and documentation of existing conditions (wall claddings, windows, curtain walls, roofs, skylights, plaza waterproofing, below-grade elements, etc.). Help with department administration and invoicing for assigned projects. Learn test standards and procedures (e.g., AAMA, ASTM, NFPA, etc.). Maintain tools, equipment and supplies; keep work area clean. Participate in the sales and marketing of services to new and potential clients. Minimum Requirements & Qualifications High School Diploma or GED with 7+ years of experience in commercial roof construction or related field, or; Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Construction Management or applicable Engineering with 2+ years of experience in commercial roof construction or related field. Registered Roof Observer (RRO) credential – required. Technical knowledge of commercial roofing systems. Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision. Detail-oriented and able to perform work from scaffolding, ladders, boom-lifts, roof levels, etc. Ability to climb stairs, bend, crawl, reach overhead, push, pull or carry up to 50 lb. Strong communication skills – both written and oral, with clients, designers, contractors and coworkers. Willingness to travel nationwide as required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat. Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
