Registered Nurse - Stroke Telemetry Unit

This is a night shift position from 07:00 PM to 07:00 AM.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Stroke Telemetry Unit provides high-acuity patient care for acute stroke and complex telemetry patients. This fast-paced environment requires a focus on patient safety, rapid intervention, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document frequent neurological assessments, including NIH Stroke Scale.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, responding to changes in real-time.
• Ensure compliance with stroke core measures such as dysphagia screening and education.
• Administer medications using BCMA standards with a focus on safety and accuracy.
• Coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team including providers, therapy, and case management.
• Manage admissions, discharges, and patient flow in a high-turnover environment.
• Maintain a constant focus on falls prevention, skin integrity, and patient safety.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• ACLS, BLS, NIH certifications required.
• Ability to read basic rhythm strips prior to arriving at the facility.
