Qualifications & Experience Desired:

• Current and valid Kansas Special Education (SPED) teaching license (required)
• Demonstrated experience working with early childhood or elementary-aged students, preferably in an intensive skills or autism support setting
• Strong understanding of IEP development, data collection, and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to adapt lessons and teaching strategies for diverse learners
• Compassionate, patient, and resourceful approach to behavior management and student motivation

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and support services to students with intensive needs in both early childhood and elementary classroom environments
• Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs), monitoring and reporting student progress
• Collaborate with general education staff, therapists, and families to ensure holistic student success
• Integrate evidence-based strategies and classroom management techniques to maximize student engagement and learning
• Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings, conferences, and training as required
• Foster an inclusive classroom community that recognizes each student’s unique strengths and needs
