Role Description The Accountant role at Ehlers & Pierce CPAs is a full-time, on-site position based in Ashland, WI. This role is responsible for maintaining and reconciling general ledgers, preparing financial statements, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing activities. The Accountant will prepare individual and business tax returns, support tax planning, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Daily responsibilities include analyzing financial data, resolving discrepancies, and collaborating with team members and clients to address accounting and reporting needs. The role also involves using accounting software, maintaining organized documentation, and contributing to process improvements and quality control. Qualifications Strong skills in financial accounting, general ledger management, and preparation of financial statements. Experience with tax preparation and compliance for individuals and businesses, including familiarity with federal and state tax laws. Proficiency with accounting and office software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar, Excel, and related tools). Attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to clients and colleagues. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA licensure or progress toward CPA certification is preferred. Ability to work on-site in Ashland, WI, manage multiple deadlines, and collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
