Keyboard Specialist

Salary Range: $20.07-$21.94 commensurate with experienceThe work involves the performance of a variety of standardized receptionist tasks along with clerical tasks for the BOCES and building administrators.Desirable qualifications include excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and computer skills.Regarding physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position, requirements may include but not be limited to the abilities to regularly and repetitively stand, walk, sit,, bend, stoop, crouch, reach, lift, carry push and pull up to 40lbs.Regular attendance and dependability are required.Working knowledge of office terminology, procedures and equipment; working knowledge of business arithmetic and English; ability to operate an alphanumeric keyboard such as a typewriter, word processor or personal computer at an acceptable rate of speed; ability to set up appropriate forms, charts and other tabular listings; ability to perform close, detail work involving considerable visual effort and strain; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to maintain neat and legible records; ability to deal with the public; accuracy; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.Other responsibilities may be assigned.The assignment is subject to change.Required:A. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma including or supplemented by a typing course; orB. One year of clerical experience which involved typing; orC.
