This position is based in our satellite production facility in Midland, TX . Position Overview AST SpaceMobile is seeking a Custodian responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards throughout the manufacturing facility. This role ensures that production areas, restrooms, break rooms, and common spaces are clean, organized, and compliant with company and regulatory requirements. This role supports Full-time, Shift Openings as follows: Base Pay is $20.00 an hour Monday thru Thursday: 6:00 p.m.–4:00 a.m. plus 10% shift differential (4x10s) 2nd Shift What you’ll do: Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, and break areas Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors in production and office areas, according to custodial SOP Remove trash and recycling; dispose of waste according to facility procedures Clean machinery exteriors, work surfaces, and equipment (as permitted) Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper Maintain cleaning equipment and report any maintenance needs Follow safety procedures, including proper handling of chemicals and PPE use Respond to spills or emergency clean-up situations promptly Support basic housekeeping in production areas to maintain inspection readiness Assist with periodic deep cleaning tasks (floors, walls, vents, etc.) Follow all company policies and OSHA safety standards Support facility audits and inspections Perform other duties as assigned What You Bring: Must be authorized to work in the United States High school diploma or GED preferred Previous custodial, janitorial, or industrial cleaning experience preferred (1-3 years) Ability to work in a manufacturing environment (noise, dust, varying temperatures) Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team Physical Requirements & Work Environment: Ability to work in a standard office environment and use a computer for extended periods Ability to stand/work on your feet and walk for extended periods of timeli> Ability to use hands and fingers to perform repetitive and precision tasks Ability to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as required to perform job duties Ability to communicate effectively, including talking and hearing Ability to work in, on, around, and in proximity to large structures, equipment, and tooling Ability to lift, push, and/or carry items up to 40–50 lbs as required Ability to work near moving mechanical parts and equipment Ability to work in and around tight or confined spaces Ability to Reading, identifying colors of labels or signage Ability to work in environments that may include exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and/or hazardous materials (e.g., carbon fiber) Ability to use personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, safety goggles, and steel-toe boots Benefits: Medical, dental, vision 401(k) (pre-tax & Roth) Life insurance, disability coverage HSA, transportation benefits Employee Assistance Program PTO / sick leave Relocation Support (If You Accept) Up to $5,000 in temporary housing (first 3 months) $1,050/month stipend to support living arrangements after 1st working month on an ongoing basis If you are open to relocating to Midland, this can be a career changing, and life changing, move into the high-tech aerospace world offering a new skill set and job security in a very similar environment that will soon feel like home.
