Litigation Associate Attorney

Trueline's client, an established Texas-based litigation firm with a national reach, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Dallas team. This role offers an experienced litigator the opportunity to independently manage a substantive defense docket while working directly with insurers, businesses, insureds, experts, and experienced trial attorneys. What You'll Do as the Litigation Associate Attorney: Manage an active docket of civil litigation matters throughout Texas Handle insurance defense, general personal injury, commercial transportation, construction defect, and related matters Develop litigation strategy and evaluate liability, damages, exposure, and resolution options Provide timely reporting and strategic recommendations to clients, insureds, and assigning attorneys Draft and respond to discovery, pleadings, motions, and briefs Prepare clients, insureds, witnesses, and other parties for depositions Take and defend depositions Coordinate with experts and consultants Prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and other proceedings Negotiate settlements when appropriate Prepare matters for trial and participate in trial proceedings Maintain detailed knowledge of assigned cases, deadlines, strategy, and risk Coordinate effectively with legal support staff Must-Haves as the Litigation Associate Attorney: Active Texas Bar license in good standing 3-7 years of substantive civil litigation experience Experience in insurance defense, general personal injury, commercial transportation, construction defect, or a related litigation practice Ability to independently manage litigation matters Strong discovery and deposition experience Strong motion practice and legal writing skills Experience handling hearings and contested proceedings Strong client communication and reporting abilities Excellent organization and deadline management Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to consistently meet the firm's associate billable expectation of 160 hours per month, or 1,920 hours annually Ability to work in-office and attend proceedings throughout Texas as required Nice-to-Haves as the Litigation Associate Attorney: Trial experience Commercial trucking or transportation defense experience Admission to one or more Texas federal district courts Our Client Offers: Base salary of $120,000-$175,000, depending on experience Lucrative production-based bonus program designed to meaningfully reward attorneys who exceed annual billable targets, with increasing earning potential as production grows Annual salary increases each December Medical insurance with approximately 90% of premium costs covered by the firm, plus dental and vision coverage Employer-paid short-term disability, long-term disability, and $50,000 in life insurance, with additional voluntary life insurance available 401(k) with a 3% employer match Sophisticated litigation, substantial case ownership, and the resources of an established Texas-based firm with a national reach Trueline and its clients are unabashed equal-opportunity employers committed to a diverse workforce.
