They are a strong member of the healthcare team integrated in all service areas of the hospital. Nutritional practice is research-based using current scientific literature. Goals of care are collaborative and incorporate patient and family centered care. Strong skills are needed for nutritional assessments using the ADIME method. If needed, responsibilities may include nutrition consultations to patients in the SSVNA Home Care Division, with home visits. They may also cover the Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab department and the outpatient GDM clinic. Compensation Pay Range $29.96 - $40.32 per hour Essential Functions Screen patients for nutritional risk using department standards and EMR data; collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Prioritize patients for the shift and document assessment needs; maintain daily multi-disciplinary care round notes. Assess patients appropriately using the Nutrition Care Process; use EMR, meal rounds, family input, and provider input; provide evidence-based assessments and ADIME documentation. Document assessments and recommendations using appropriate EMR templates; ensure accuracy and timeliness. Communicate departmental, organizational, and industry information to coworkers and clinical staff in a clear, timely manner; resolve conflicts. Provide in-service education to RD staff or other employees/students as requested by the Clinical Nutrition Manager. Resolve patient problems proactively and ensure operational excellence; collaborate to enhance nutritional care. Initiate research of scientific literature to update educational handouts and policies. Maintain professional competencies, including registration with CDR, Massachusetts license, and a professional portfolio in good standing; attend continuing education. Participate in department and hospital meetings; communicate meeting information to stakeholders. Share responsibility in community educational fairs and presentations; develop agendas and handouts. Embrace technology and electronic tools; use literature searches and communication platforms like Outlook. Outpatient Counseling – GDM Clinic Coordinate activities to support fiscal accountability by growing outpatient nutrition volume; become a provider for medical insurers; maintain a neat, organized office; manage administrative duties and documentation; order educational forms; process daily patient billing; maximize appointment scheduling; oversee outpatient performance improvement plans. Handle work of a variety of skill levels and responsibilities; may be required to perform higher-level or lower-level work as needed. Job Requirements Minimum Education: Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Nutrition from a CDR/A.N.D. approved program; completed Dietetic Internship; passed RD exam or eligible to take it; Massachusetts licensure or eligibility. Preferred Experience: Up to six (6) months to become fully proficient. Required Licenses / Registrations: LDN or LDN‑eligible; RD or RD‑eligible. Additional Knowledge & Abilities: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel; typing ability. Work Hours: 20 hours per week, rotating days; flexible start time; rotating weekends and holidays.
