Groundsperson - Aiken, SC

The Groundsperson supports the crew by performing work from the ground including clearing brush and trees as directed, and performing clean-up on each job site. Driver's license is required to be considered for this role.

Essential functions include following and helping enforce safe practices and rules, keeping work area clear of debris, using various tools to cut brush and trees, loading and unloading trucks, performing general clean-up of job sites, carrying, preparing, and storing materials, tools and equipment, setting up and breaking down road signs, flagging traffic, driving trucks or operating other equipment, performing basic maintenance service on trucks and equipment, safeguarding employees and public from hazards, and performing duties for storm work as needed.

Experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries is preferred. A high school diploma or education equivalent is preferred. Must possess physical strength and balance, be able to work outdoors under varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions, obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR, wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), maintain a driver's license if hired for a driving position, comprehend verbal job instructions/information, maintain balance over uneven terrain, communicate with others, and have endurance necessary to perform duties throughout a standard eight or ten hour day. Must be able to operate and service all required tools and equipment and travel out of town for storm restoration work when needed.
