Job Summary:

Big Brown Fly Ash is seeking a reliable, safety-focused, and detail-oriented Warehouse & Inventory Specialist to support maintenance and plant operations at our Fairfield, TX facility. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the plant's warehouse, inventory, receiving, spare parts, and maintenance support systems to maximize equipment reliability, maintenance readiness, and plant uptime.

This role owns the day-to-day warehouse and inventory functions, including receiving, inventory control, spare parts management, purchasing support, material staging, and warehouse organization. Working closely with maintenance, operations, purchasing, vendors, and plant leadership, the Specialist establishes standardized processes, maintains accurate inventory records, ensures critical parts, tools, materials, and documentation are available when needed, and continuously improves warehouse operations to support safe, efficient, and reliable plant performance.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The schedule is generally day shift, Monday-Friday; occasional extended hours, weekend work, emergency maintenance support, or outage support may be required based on site needs. Overtime may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain organized warehouse, parts room, tool storage, PPE inventory, and consumable supply systems

Receive, inspect, verify, document, and properly store incoming deliveries

Maintain accurate inventory records and record inventory receipts, issues, transfers, returns, and adjustments in the approved inventory tracking system

Establish and maintain minimum and maximum inventory levels for critical spare parts and high-use consumables

Perform cycle counts, reconcile inventory discrepancies, and maintain inventory accuracy

Track critical spare parts and proactively notify Maintenance Management of low stock, critical shortages, long-lead materials, or inventory issues

Support maintenance planning by staging parts, building job kits, preparing material lists, and ensuring job readiness for preventive, corrective, outage, and emergency maintenance

Assist with purchase requests, obtain quotes, track purchase orders and backorders, and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials

Pick up and deliver parts, tools, materials, equipment, and other plant-related items from local vendors as needed

Maintain work orders, equipment history, asset records, and inventory documentation within the CMMS or approved tracking system

Develop and maintain standardized asset identification, tagging, and tracking procedures for warehouse inventory and critical spare parts

Maintain tool, rental equipment, PPE, SDS, and maintenance-related records

Maintain a clean, safe, organized, labeled, and audit-ready warehouse and storage areas

Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other authorized material-handling equipment

Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, Purchasing, Accounting, vendors, contractors, and Plant Leadership to support plant operations and continuous improvement

Identify opportunities to improve warehouse organization, inventory control, material flow, and plant reliability

Complete inventory, receiving, maintenance, and other required documentation accurately and in a timely manner

Support other Site Operations at the request of immediate Supervisor or Plant Manager

Qualifications and Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical, trade, or vocational education in maintenance, industrial technology, supply chain, or a related field preferred

Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in industrial warehouse operations, maintenance inventory, receiving, spare parts management, purchasing support, or a similar role in a manufacturing, mining, power generation, cement, or comparable industrial environment

Experience receiving shipments, verifying packing slips and purchase orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, organizing warehouse operations, and identifying discrepancies

Experience managing industrial spare parts inventory, inventory control, cycle counts, material staging, and warehouse organization

Working knowledge of industrial mechanical and electrical components, including bearings, motors, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, valves, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook, and the ability to learn CMMS, ERP, inventory management, and other business software

Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments

Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment, or obtain certification, and safely receive, unload, inspect, lift, organize, and stage materials

Self-motivated, dependable, safety-focused, and committed to supporting warehouse operations, maintenance readiness, and continuous improvement

Valid driver's license required with the ability to operate company vehicles for local pickups, deliveries, and other business-related travel-handling equipment or obtain certification, and safely receive, unload, inspect, lift, organize, and stage materials

Self-motivated, dependable, safety-focused, and able to work independently with minimal supervision while taking ownership of warehouse operations and supporting plant reliability and continuous improvement

Valid driver's license required with the ability to operate company vehicles for local pickups, deliveries, and other business-related travel

Good verbal and written communication skills

Ability to follow procedures and work both independently and in a team

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Work is performed in an industrial facility, including time in control areas and field conditions with exposure to noise, dust, heat, outdoor elements, and operational hazards

Must be able to work varied hours including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the assigned schedule.

May involve standing or sitting for extended periods, bending, climbing, using hand tools, and working around heavy equipment or machinery

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., work at heights or in confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks

Use of communication devices or computer systems may be required, depending on job function

PPE must be worn and all safety protocols followed
