Senior Ice Center Maintenance & Repair Technician

Job Title Sr. Maintenance Repair Technician Department Goggin Student Operations JM Worker type Regular Pay Type Hourly Hourly Rate $17.95 Work Shift & Hours Sunday – Thursday, 5 p.m. – 1 a.m. (40 hrs/week). Flexible support for facility events. Benefits Benefit Eligible: Yes Description Summary Responsible for maintaining Goggin Ice Center facilities and equipment by performing basic operations and facility support. Essential Duties Performs general maintenance repairs on facility components. Performs general ice making and maintenance tasks by operating an ice resurfacer and related equipment. Monitors activities to ensure the smooth flow of operations and that all systems are fully functional. Assists in event setup and teardown. Duties / Physical Demands Basic ice making and maintenance tasks. Skate sharpening. Basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs. Basic and specialized custodial tasks. Cleans and maintains tools and equipment. Serves as an informal resource to student staff. Assists in setup for special events. Minimum Qualifications Six months of mechanical/trade training beyond high school and two years of repair/maintenance experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience; requires a driver's license. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of carpentry, electricity, and plumbing repair and maintenance. Knowledge of mechanical repair. Ability to read schematics. Ability to complete ongoing Certified Ice Technician training. Ability to complete ongoing Certified Pool Operator training. Working Conditions / Physical Demands Continuous standing or walking, frequent climbing, and lifting of materials up to 75 lb. Somewhat disagreeable working conditions. Exposure to unpleasant elements. Special Instructions to Applicants Pre‑employment drug testing may be required. On‑the‑job ice maintenance and equipment operation training provided.
