About the Opportunity - Sales Tax Accountant (Sales Tax & ERP Integration)
A growing organization is launching a new B2B Shopify ecommerce platform and seeking an experienced consultant to lead a tax systems implementation initiative. This role will serve as the subject matter expert for sales tax compliance, Avalara integration, ERP connectivity, and multi-state tax requirements while collaborating with internal teams and third-party vendors.

Key Responsibilities - Sales Tax Accountant (Sales Tax & ERP Integration)
- Lead the implementation and integration of Avalara with ERP and ecommerce platforms.
- Coordinate tax system integration efforts between Avalara, Sage 100, and Shopify.
- Conduct multi-state sales tax research for current and expansion markets.
- Develop and maintain state-by-state tax compliance documentation.
- Manage communication with tax authorities as needed.
- Coordinate vendors, stakeholders, and project activities to ensure successful delivery.
- Provide recommendations on tax compliance processes, system configuration, and best practices.
- Monitor project milestones and drive implementation progress.
Qualifications - Sales Tax Accountant (Sales Tax & ERP Integration)
Required:
- Hands-on Avalara implementation and configuration experience.
- Strong background in multi-state sales and use tax compliance.
- Experience integrating tax solutions with ERP systems.
- Knowledge of tax authority requirements and compliance processes.
- Demonstrated project leadership and stakeholder management experience.
- Excellent communication, organization, and consulting skills.
- Ability to work independently and make strategic recommendations.
Preferred:
- Sage 100 integration experience.
- Shopify or ecommerce platform implementation experience.
- Experience supporting B2B ecommerce environments.
- Consulting background focused on indirect tax or tax technology solutions.
