We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join a growing healthcare organization in Macon, GA. This role is unique in that it combines accounting, finance, billing, and resident-facing responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly with residents and families while also managing month-end close activities, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

This position plays a key role in maintaining resident accounts, supporting admissions and discharges, ensuring accurate billing and cash posting, and assisting with financial operations across the community.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries
• Assist with month-end close activities and financial reporting
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations
• Support budgeting and revenue forecasting efforts
• Process cash postings and billing transactions
• Manage resident account activity, including refunds and account maintenance
• Support admissions and discharge processes by ensuring accurate resident billing information
• Maintain accurate documentation and records
• Coordinate ACH payments and account reconciliations
• Work with internal stakeholders to ensure financial data is accurate and properly recorded
• Utilize Workday and other accounting systems to process and reconcile transactions
• Communicate professionally and effectively with residents, families, and team members

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Experience preparing journal entries and participating in month-end close
• Strong understanding of reconciliations and financial reporting
• Experience using Workday
• Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and formula troubleshooting
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Comfortable interacting directly with residents and customers
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail

• Healthcare industry experience
• Senior living, long-term care, or Life Plan Community experience
• MatrixCare experience
• Experience with budgeting or revenue forecasting
• Experience with BlackLine or similar reconciliation software
