Role Description: We are looking for someone with Chirldrenswear experience in Baby, Girls & Boys. This full-time Designer role is an on-site position based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The Designer will create and develop children’s apparel concepts, including sketches, technical flats, and seasonal collections aligned with brand and license guidelines. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching trends, fabrics, and trims; preparing presentation boards; collaborating with merchandising, sales, and production teams; and ensuring designs meet quality, fit, and cost requirements. The role involves coordinating with sourcing and technical design to finalize samples, reviewing lab dips and strike-offs, and making design adjustments based on feedback from internal stakeholders and retail partners. The Designer will also help maintain brand consistency across product lines and support the timely delivery of collections to market. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong apparel design skills, including sketching, creating technical flats, and developing children’s collections. Candidates should possess proficiency with design and visualization tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other industry-standard CAD software. Candidates should possess knowledge of fabrics, trims, garment construction, fit, and production processes for knit and woven children’s apparel. Candidates should possess abilities in trend research, color and print development, and building cohesive seasonal assortments. Candidates should possess collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with merchandising, sales, sourcing, and technical design teams. Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Relevant qualifications include prior experience in fashion or apparel design (children’s wear preferred), familiarity with licensed character programs, and understanding of retail channels from specialty to mass market.
