Pharmacists at Hannaford Supermarkets play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of service and care for our customers. This position involves a range of duties from greeting customers and providing prompt and courteous service to preparing prescriptions and maintaining pharmacy records. The role also includes assisting in inventory management, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Greeting all customers and providing them with prompt and courteous service and assistance.
• Helping pharmacists prepare prescriptions with accurate data entry, retrieving counting or pouring medications and labeling products.
• Ensuring customers receive all their prescriptions in a timely manner.
• Maintaining pharmacy records as required in accordance with Standard Practice and by law.
• Maintaining confidentiality of customer and company information.
• Helping customers find over the counter items.
• Following and adhering to attendance and paid time off policies.
• Coordinating and assisting with scheduling.
• Understanding and adhering to state specific and federal laws and regulations.
• Assisting pharmacist in maintaining pharmacy inventory, including ordering and retuning product, stocking shelves, and proper separation and return of outdated product.
• Maintaining knowledge of physical inventory procedures and assisting in the physical inventory process including analyzing the condensed variance report and reports from Control D.
• Reviewing and understanding ACIS reports.
• Assisting in third party audits as needed.
• Sharing in responsibility for department maintenance and cleanliness by maintaining the quality of department's appearance and presentation.
• Maintaining and assisting with ordering pharmacy department supplies (e.g., bottles, bags, labels, staples, etc.).
• Observing, adhering, and understanding all company policies and Company Standard Practices.
• Maintaining a neat, well-groomed personal appearance and complying with company personal appearance and pharmacy dress code policies.
• Supporting company safety standards. Communicating any needed equipment repairs or maintenance work needed. Keeping work area free of debris and safety hazards.
• Treating all co-workers with fairness, dignity, and respect.
• Fostering a positive and enthusiastic environment to retain associates and customers.
• Performing all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications for this role include:

• Successful completion of criminal background check and drug testing as required.
• Maintain current national certification and state license as required.
• Maintain advanced certifications (i.e., immunizer certification) and requirements.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong keyboard skills and a demonstrated ability to learn new software applications.
• Effective time management skills and sense of urgency.
• Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.

• Must be able to work with minimal supervision to prioritize multiple minor projects while maintaining customer focus.

• Desire and ability to learn all aspects of pharmacy operations including involvement with store leadership, scheduling, and other delegated duties.
• Desire and ability to train other department associates in all areas pertaining to department operation.
• Promote and participate in initiatives to grow the pharmacy business as required.

Physical requirements include:

• Stand 100% of the shift with occasional walking short distances.
• Use of computer, pharmacy filling equipment and register 90% of time.
• Use hands to frequently/continuously handle a variety of sizes of containers then manipulate individual pills/capsules and the equipment used to count them.
• Clerical accuracy skills and mathematical skills including the ability to operate cash register.
• Ability to use office supplies, communication devices, and computer systems frequently.
• Frequent/continuous reaching, grasping, lifting, and carrying up to 20 lb. below the waist level and at or above shoulder level.
• Bend at the knees and waist repetitively throughout the workday.
• Have sufficient visual acuity and audio capability to process prescriptions and service customers.

Salary range is between $21.80 - $29.00 Hrly.
