Job Title: Paraprofessional Substitute

Location: Crowley County School District

Reports To: Building Administrator and K-12 Special Ed


FLSA Status: Non-Exempt


Job Summary: The Paraprofessional Substitute assists in the instructional process and supports students in the absence of the regular paraprofessional. This role is vital in providing a conducive learning environment and ensuring that students receive the necessary support to succeed.


Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the classroom teacher in delivering instructional activities and materials to students.
• Support students with special needs by providing individualized attention and assistance.
• Help maintain a positive and structured classroom environment.
• Implement behavioral management strategies as directed by the teacher.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
• Assist with classroom organization and preparation of learning materials.
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of students during activities and transitions.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in education or a related field preferred.
• Experience working with children, especially in an educational or special education setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to various classroom environments and student needs.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards students.

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in a classroom setting.
• May require standing for extended periods and engaging in physical activities with students.
