Troubleshooter

Job TitleResponsible for reactive emergency restoration on energized and de-energized services, secondary and primary conductors and equipment from below 600 volts up to 25kv. Will be working alone the majority of the time. Must be safety conscious as this position will work in various hazardous situations. Hours will be on a rotating schedule and will include being on call 24 hours per day/7 days a week.Minimum Requirements5 years minimum electric distribution construction experience. Must be qualified to work on energized high and low voltages up to 25kv without direct supervision. Must be able to climb wood poles, operate a bucket truck and perform pole top rescues. Must follow all safe work practices. If not certified, will be required to attend certification courses Requires advanced skills in math. Must be able to fluently read, write, speak and comprehend English. Must have a high level of attention to detail and mechanical aptitude. Must be computer literate. May be required to work weekends, evenings and holidays State wide travel required. Based on the nature of work at Standard Utility, even if not driving company vehicles, all employees are required to have a valid Texas Driver License in good standing throughout their employment with us.Preferred RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred. Knowledge of electric distribution construction specifications for voltages up to 25kv preferred. Knowledge and understanding of single phase and three phase low voltage and metering specifications preferred. Class A CDL preferredPhysical RequirementsMust be able to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces. Must be able to move freely, including ability to stoop, crawl, and bend at the knees and waist. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds unassisted. Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing. May be required to work long and unpredictable hours. Position requires working outdoors in all types of weather.
