Named for the year baseball began, 1845 Solutions builds trusted technology and tools that simplify how data is captured, connected and used across youth baseball and softball. Its flagship platform, BASE (Baseball and Softball Evaluation), is the official, and only, assessment of MLB Universe. BASE delivers objective baseball and softball player data to benchmark skills, identify strengths, and track development over time. BASE also includes a companion web solution for coaches, instructors, and training facilities (Stacks) which is a centralized platform that plugs into existing data capture systems to simplify how they manage rosters, track athletes, and surface key performance insights to support their programming. At the core of the platform is a universal athlete ID system that ensures data control and ownership remains with the athlete or parent, enabling permission-based sharing with teams, coaches, and facilities. This portable data model allows an athlete's development journey to move with them, enabling greater continuity, safer training decisions, and smarter support at every stage. 1845 is proud to be working in partnership with Major League Baseball to establish BASE and Stacks as the foundation of a national youth technology strategy. In the future, 1845 will be expanding its platform to include other baseball and softball facility management solutions that span facility asset management, dynamic scheduling, and a suite of business, administrative, and accounting offerings.

Position Overview

We're looking for a BASE Operations Team Member to support, direct, and execute live activations of the BASE assessment. This position will require an acquired proficiency in operating technology developed or operated by 1845 Solutions, including Trackman, Diamond Kinetics, Uplift, BreakAway Data, and Loden Sports. The ideal candidate is organized, attentive to detail, tech savvy, and works well in fast-paced and often-times unpredictable environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Work alongside the Director of Operations to execute the BASE assessment during events when needed and available. This may include but is not limited to tournaments, travel ball clubs, training facilities, college programs, and high school programs.
• Support the event lead with setting up evaluation stations (technologies, signage, cones, etc.) and with breakdown and cleanup of the event site.
• Operate the technology offerings that make up the BASE assessment.
• Troubleshoot the technology offerings that make up the BASE assessment when necessary.
• Confirm all assessment data has been uploaded properly.
• Occasionally interact with coaches and parents to explain BASE & Stacks and answer questions.
• Optimize every BASE assessment from both a data capture and athlete-experience standpoint. Represent 1845 and MLBU and the mission behind it with integrity.

Qualifications

• Experience working with baseball and/or softball athletes, coaches, and parents of all ages.
• Expertise in understanding or working with baseball and/or softball technologies and data.
• Ability to adapt to different age group BASE experiences, including bringing energy and fun for younger kids, and credibility and authority for elite, older athletes.
• Proficiency in learning new and evolving technologies required to do the job.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work well within a team.

Requirements

• Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time.
• Ability to work outside occasionally in adverse weather.
• Ability to carry up to 40 lbs.
• Reliable transportation.
• Must live within driving distance of target event cities.

Nice to Have

• Experience in athlete testing and evaluations.
• Can throw batting practice (baseball and/or softball).
