Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) Location: Northern Navajo Medical Center, Shiprock, NM Job Type: Full-Time Contract Position Summary The Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) provides professional nursing care in the Pre-Operative, Operating Room, PACU (Recovery), and Endoscopy units. The RN delivers safe, high-quality patient care while following IHS policies, nursing standards, and facility protocols. Key Responsibilities Perform pre-operative patient assessments and preparation. Verify patient identity, consent, allergies, medications, and laboratory results. Assist with circulating duties during surgical procedures. Maintain sterile technique and infection control practices. Monitor patients during post-anesthesia recovery and provide discharge education. Support endoscopy procedures before, during, and after treatment. Administer medications and IV therapy as ordered. Complete accurate and timely patient documentation. Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and healthcare teams. Participate in on‑call, weekend, holiday, and after‑hours coverage as assigned. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Nursing program. Active, unrestricted RN license in any U.S. State or Territory. Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience. Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA). Required Skills Operating Room and PACU nursing Pre‑ and post‑operative patient care IV therapy and medication administration Sterile technique and infection prevention Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills Additional Requirements Ability to pass background screening and medical clearance.
