Accounting Services Specialist

Lumsden McCormick CPA is seeking a friendly, energetic, and organized candidate with general accounting and payroll experience needed to provide accounting services to our smaller business clients. The ideal candidate for this will be someone who is a self-starter, detail-oriented, highly dependable, and has the ability to work well within a team environment. Responsibilities Perform bookkeeping and payroll services for clients under the direction of a Certified Public Accountant Prepare journal entries and post to general ledger Process payables and bill payments Communicate directly with clients via meetings, email, and telephone Monitor in-house and external deadline to ensure compliance Experience Two years of post-secondary education or equivalent experience in accounting QuickBooks experience – certification is a plus Attention to detail, accuracy, organizational skills, and computer experience, including Word and Excel Knowledge of clerical bookkeeping principles and practices, including processing payroll and reports, general ledger reconciliations, financial statements and the keeping of financial accounts and records Ability to self-direct and effectively organize, prioritize and manage multiple engagements under a tight deadline Prior experience with accounts receivable, payable, bank reconciliations, general ledger, payroll and small tax return preparation Strong communication and client-facing skills We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, financial well-being, and professional growth, including: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) for medical and dependent care expenses 401(k) with firm contributions and profit sharing Paid time off and paid holidays Professional development and continuing education support Flexible work arrangements, including hybrid and remote opportunities for eligible positions Additional benefits, including life insurance, wellness offerings, and more Our firm prides itself on fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
