About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years in a telemetry or cardiovascular unit License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with cardiac telemetry Flexible scheduling, including every other weekend, is required. Applicants may be scheduled to work holidays during the assignment period. Description: We have a 54-bed cardiovascular telemetry unit. The unit is split into three 18-bed wings. Telemetry patients are also cared for in our overflow unit. Applicants must have flexible scheduling. Every other weekend, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, is required. If any holiday occurs during the assignment period, the applicant may be scheduled to work. The patient population includes adolescents and adults. Daily patient ratios are 4 during the day and 5 at night. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, interpretation services, phlebotomy, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. Common patient diagnoses include heart failure, arrhythmias, electrolyte abnormalities, and sepsis. Special procedures performed in the unit include cardiac catheterization and post-cardiac surgery care. Candidates must be fluent in cardiac rhythms and management of drips. All units require specialty experience within the last year. Candidates should have experience with the charting system mentioned. Candidates must possess the necessary certifications and licenses.
