(3025) Service Manager, Bastrop State Hospital Step Down

Program Overview The Bastrop State Hospital Step Down (SHSD) Program serves individuals transitioning from the state hospital to a community‑based residential program. Designed for residents with intellectual developmental disabilities or autism co‑occurring with behavioral health needs, the program promotes autonomy and independent living for 6–12 months through person‑centered recovery planning, relapse prevention, skills training, peer support, medication management, and connection to community resources such as primary care and dental care. Job Description The SHSD Services Manager oversees day‑to‑day operations, develops and supports a talented team, and collaborates with community partners. The role includes strategic communication with staff and contractors, maintaining essential operations during emergencies, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal standards. Critical Impact Launched in 2020 as a pilot in Texas, the SHSD program offers a unique, community‑based option for residents who were previously hospitalized for over a year. The Services Manager plays a key role in expanding this innovative care model. Key Responsibilities Lead program operations in alignment with the Center’s mission and values. Provide consistent 360‑degree feedback to direct reports, including individualized support, goal setting, and coaching. Build relationships with colleagues across programs, seeking and offering input toward shared goals and objectives. Participate in continuous quality improvement. Ensure all staff receive required training for the Center and program. Effectively oversee the plans of care for all program residents. Serve as the point of contact for collaboration with contractors. Establish clear direction for the program, aligning with local, state, and federal contracts and standards of care. Order supplies, submit facilities work orders, and ensure the home environment is safe for all residents. Location: Bastrop, TX Hourly Salary Range: $27.85 – $34.60 Differential Detail $1.00 per hour for previous experience in a similar role. Up to $4.00 per hour for tenure with BTCS.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Services (or a minimum of 24 credits in a human services field if the degree is in another discipline). Comprehensive knowledge of mental health diagnoses. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, recovery-focused environment. Minimum of one year of crisis case management experience. Valid Texas driver’s license with approved driver’s status throughout employment. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Human Services. Pursuit of clinical licensure in counseling, behavior analysis, family therapy, social work, or a related field. Advanced licensure. Bilingual proficiency in ASL or Spanish.
