About the Position

Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer Profession: Allied Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care Echo experience License: BLS Certifications: ARDMS-RDS or RDCSS Must-Have: Comfortable performing pediatric scans Experience with various cardiac patient types Ability to assist with procedures such as pericardiocentesis Experience with measuring accurate EFs Fetal scan and stress test experience preferred Description: The Cardiac Sonographer will work within a specialized department dedicated to noninvasive cardiology. The facility includes two Echo Suites and two TEE rooms, with the expectation to provide care to inpatients at bedside. The average patient volume is 40-60 patients per day. Candidates should have experience with adult and pediatric patients, along with common cardiac conditions. The role involves supporting a large structural cardiac program and performing various procedures, including pre/post care for catheterizations and surgeries. The Cardiac Sonographer must be adept at performing preliminary findings and documenting results in a modifiable report for physician review. The ability to collaborate with other Echo Technicians, cardiologists, and rapid response teams is crucial. On-call duties may be required, with one night call shift per week expected and potential holiday coverage. The schedule will involve a modified self-schedule with requests submitted for approval.
