Position(s) Applying for International Trade & Regulatory Compliance Staff Attorney - Customs and Import Compliance Job Overview Steptoe LLP is seeking a Staff Attorney to join the Firm’s International Trade and Regulatory Compliance group to work on Customs and Import Compliance matters in our Washington, DC office. The Staff Attorney will assist with customs and import compliance matters under the supervision of partners and counsel in the Firm’s International Trade and Regulatory Compliance practice group. Preferred Experience Experience at U.S. Customs and Border Protection Experience in an internal corporate import/export compliance office Experience at a law firm with significant responsibility for import/export regulatory compliance issues Experience with a customs brokerage Qualifications Strong academic credentials Excellent writing and analytical skills Foreign language skills are a plus A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school Membership in the District of Columbia bar, active and in good standing Application Requirements Please submit a cover letter, resume, law school transcript, and writing sample. Compensation & Benefits Anticipated salary range: $135,000 to $170,000. The actual base salary will depend upon the applicant’s experience and qualifications, as well as other job‑related factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, education, certifications, or other professional licenses held.
