QA Laboratory Technician I
MILLENNIUMSOFT
Roles & Responsibilities
- Sample, test, plate, read, and record product test results
- Ensure daily records are kept and maintained
- Perform data entry and tracking
- Follow QC Hold Procedures for out-of-specification products
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Assist in maintaining a 5-S rating of \"A\"
- Perform equipment calibration and troubleshooting
- Participate in driving continuous improvement
- Meet daily with supervisor to cover production-related issues
- Evaluate trends from test results, develop correction plans, and communicate to employees/management
- Implement quality control processes/testing to meet Safeway quality standards and ensure product specifications are met
- Utilize laboratory supplies/items relating to plant sanitation/safety
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Minimum 2 years in a similar role (if substituting for degree)
- Food Science and Microbiology
- Lab test equipment operation and maintenance
- Microbiological, chemical, physical, and organoleptic testing
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Time management and multitasking in fast-paced environments
- Proficiency in Windows-based PC programs
- Oral and written communication
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, or related science required (or equivalent experience)
- Knowledge of industry best-practice equipment maintenance
- Excellent organizational skills with high initiative and flexibility
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in cold and loud environments
- Adherence to Safeway policies, procedures, and workplace safety standards
