Position Description Ryder is hiring an experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician in MCKINNEY, TX. The role offers weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a career you can feel good about. Benefits Hourly pay: $27.92 per hour Certification bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification up to $700 Quarterly bonus up to $500 every quarter Schedule: Sunday through Thursday; second shift 4:00 pm – 1:30 am Medical, dental, vision coverage after 30 days 80 hours PTO during first year, starting Day 1 Yearly merit pay increases 401(k) company match PPE, uniforms, and boot allowance provided Paid training to build skills State‑of‑the‑art equipment in a safety‑first workplace Top tech competition: earn $250 – $50,000 per year Extra paid day off for U.S. military veterans 15% company stock discount Up to $5,000 in tech tuition repayment 12 weeks paid maternity leave (subject to specific eligibility criteria, including work tenure) Employee discounts on tools, vehicles, travel, tech and more Referral program: up to $1,500 in unlimited bonuses for each new hire you refer (diesel mechanic, service employee, driver, warehouse associate, and more) Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred Basic tools required Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including: Routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work) Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience for the required experience preferred Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred Additional Requirements Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire Must pass a Ryder drug test Must pass a DOT physical Must pass a Ryder road test Must pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years Responsibilities Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties Perform standard vehicle maintenance, component inspections and repairs Conduct preventive maintenance Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable Identify root cause of basic failures or conditions and perform repairs as required Replace defective components as instructed Perform facility maintenance duties Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints when assigned a task Utilize key functions of shop management system and electronic documentation Work in accordance with all federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT) Perform other support duties as required to support operations, including but not limited to service island support EEO Statement Ryder is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and drug‑free workplace.
