Estimator - Civil

Role Description The Estimator Position, is a full-time, on-site role based in Richland, WA, responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing plans, specifications, and bid documents; performing quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, concrete, and paving; and soliciting and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotes. The Estimator collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, and field supervisors to validate assumptions, clarify scope, and develop competitive proposals. The role also involves developing cost breakdowns, schedules of values, and bid summaries, as well as tracking historical cost data and market pricing for continuous estimating improvement. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in civil construction estimating, including quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, concrete, paving prep and foundation excavation, backfill & prep. Proficiency with estimating and construction software (e.g., earthwork takeoff tools, spreadsheets, project management platforms) and strong general computer skills. Solid understanding of civil construction methods, materials, specifications, and industry standards, preferably in site development and infrastructure work. Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and accuracy in calculations and documentation. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with project managers, engineers, field teams, and external partners. Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work independently with minimal supervision. Relevant education such as an associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience in estimating for both public and private sector projects, including competitive bids and negotiated work, is an advantage. #J-18808-Ljbffr Total Site Services, LLC
