Behavioral Health Technician

This position is for a Behavioral Health Technician in an inpatient psychiatric unit. The unit provides care for adults experiencing acute mental health crises. The focus is on stabilization and safety. The technician will assist with patient care and monitor patients' vital signs. Experience with managing assaultive behavior and behavior management techniques is required. The technician will utilize de-escalation techniques and therapeutic communication skills. Documentation of patient care and behavior is an essential part of the role. The technician will be part of an interdisciplinary team providing comprehensive care. Work includes assisting with daily activities and ensure patient safety. Additional responsibilities may include conducting patient safety checks and working with crisis intervention teams. Experience with electronic health record systems is preferred.
