Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to patient experience through respectful behavior and effective communication. AIDET and patient update practices are vital to ensuring a positive experience for each patient. Staff will work with a patient ratio of 4:1 typically, and up to 7:1 on behavioral holds. The unit supports a collaborative environment, with techs available for assistance in various capacities. Candidates should have experience in a high-volume emergency department, ideally in a level 2 trauma center or a comprehensive stroke center. Advanced nursing skills and familiarity with specific procedures performed in the unit are preferable. A commitment to teamwork and serving a diverse patient population is essential. Candidates are expected to adhere to the unit's guidelines and policies regarding attendance and conduct.
