Job Details Specialty: Interventional Radiology Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 05/25/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Hours per Week: 40 Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Departments: Radiology Interventional Job Title: Rad Tech-IR Specialty: Interventional Radiology Responsibilities Operates diagnostic fluoroscopy and various types of cardiac equipment, monitors patient vitals, performs routine calculations, circulates, and assists the physician during procedures upon request. Prepares procedure rooms, equipment, and patients for procedures. Acts as liaison to the hospital Radiation Safety Officer (RSO). Assists in patient setup, prep before procedures and take down/clean up post-procedure using safe patient transfer and positioning techniques. Documents in procedure log to ensure accurate billing and charge capture. Operates radiographic fluoroscopy equipment to obtain diagnostic images of coronary and peripheral vascular disease. Conducts hemodynamic monitoring of patient during procedure and reports values to performing physician. Monitors delivery of radiation dose for safety. Transmits, archives, and retrieves digital images in PACS. Performs quality control and maintenance of fluoroscopy equipment. Adapts behavior to specific patient population and communicates appropriately. Performs other related duties as assigned. Education Required – Associate degree in radiologic sciences. Preferred – Bachelor’s degree in radiologic sciences. Experience Required – 2 years of experience as an allied health professional. Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA). Registered Radiologic Technologist in the state of practice and registration from The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT). Key Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications. Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally. Strong interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented, capable of performing complex tasks that may be hazardous to patient welfare and detecting equipment malfunctions. Ability to deal effectively and courteously with a diverse group of internal/external visitors in a highly stressful atmosphere. Ability to learn new procedures. Knowledge of and compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory radiation requirements. Ability to work flexible schedule (e.g., 24/7, weekend, holiday, on-call availability).
