Description

American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist for a Digestive Health Center setting requiring CST or TS-C certification and at least one year of surgical tech experience.

Details

• Assignment in a Digestive Health Center performing basic surgical and endoscopic procedures
• Day shift, Monday through Friday, working 8 or 9 hour shifts with a set day off
• On-call rotation required for weekend coverage
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of surgical technologist experience
• Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology or completion of a Surgical Technology certificate program
• CST certification through NBSTSA or TS-C certification through NCCT required
• BLS certification required
• License required if applicable
• Epic charting experience required
• Ability to independently scrub basic surgical procedures
• Applied knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology
• Working knowledge of electricity, chemistry, computers, robotics, and lasers as related to surgical care
• Demonstrated understanding of sterile technique and perioperative teamwork

Additional Information

• Assist in organizing and coordinating supplies and equipment to maintain an efficient department
• Collect and document patient data as directed by the RN and unit performance standards
• Apply aseptic principles to maintain a clean and sterile environment, including separation of clean and dirty supplies
• Assist providers with procedures, treatments, and specimen collection
• Clean, stock, and prepare exam and procedure rooms with necessary supplies and equipment
• Assist with cleaning, sterilization, and reprocessing of endoscopes and instruments per policy
• Serve as a resource for technical equipment within the department
• Assist with inventory management and restocking of supplies
• Support the RN and provide patient care within scope as directed
• Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and families
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Radius rule of 50 miles applies; local candidates not accepted
