Global Supplier Services - Payment Operations - Vice President

This Function will reside within the Indirect Tax Operations team, part of Payment Operations within GSS. The team prepares and files all returns and makes all related payments for US Sales/Use and Personal Property Taxes [PPT] for JPMorgan Chase as well as handling all related audits. The team also handles all supplier-related foreign and domestic US Income Tax Withholding and Reporting; additionally performing a wide range of indirect tax functions associated with Accounts Payable activity for international locations. The team has locations in Columbus, Indianapolis, Tampa, Bengaluru, Bournemouth, Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, and Warsaw. This Vice President position is a role in which the primary responsibilities would entail managing tax data analyses processes and automation, tax project implementations, outside tax engagements, information reporting, quality control management and various assigned projects. Job Responsibilities Management and Oversight | Implementation of, transition to, and future BAU execution of internal Multiple Points of Use (MPU) solution for use tax self-assessment Management and Oversight | Implementation of, transition to, and future BAU execution of outsourced engagement for non-MPU use tax self-assessment Management and Primary Engagement Liaison | Vertex O Series New Business onboarding, programming solutions, testing, system upgrades, and new implementations Quality Control and Action Plan Management | Various sales/use tax processes across the space Analyze legacy systems and processes to identify issues/trends/process enhancements and foresee future needs for sales/use tax compliance Assist with sales/use tax audit/controversy resolution Ensure controls are in place to maintain compliance with Risk Management and Audit readiness Assist with generation of regular productivity and metrics reporting, both internal and outbound Ensure that all activities are completed prior to internal deadlines Develop strategies to increase cost savings and efficiencies Lead and/or assist in various projects as needed Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities 5+ years professional experience with a focus on sales/use tax, and/or financial analysis/accounting experience with some tax background Foundational technology skills, highly analytical, and process oriented Team player with ability to collaborate with high-performing (often virtual) teams that work in different locations, countries, and time zones to accomplish common goals Self-directed, motivated with creative problem solving, negotiation, and analytical skills, and ability to complete work to deadlines with a sense of urgency Strategic thinking, emotional intelligence, exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) Must be able to effectively prioritize and multi-task Adheres to the highest degree of professional standards, establishing trust, promoting inclusive environments, and cultivating collaborative partnerships Advocates for and values a culture of transparency, diversity, inclusion, equity and respect among teams Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Tax, or Data Science preferred Vertex, Avalara or equivalent knowledge an advantage, Alteryx certification a plus Statistical analysis skills, data mining acumen and familiarity with ML/AI an advantage Excel power user and SAP knowledge preferred.
