Job Description\n TalentBurst, Inc is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: OR - Operating Room\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/05/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 9 hours, days\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n \n Title:RN-Registered Nurse | OR - Operating Room, UrologyLocation:MilwaukeeWisconsin53215Duration: 13 Weeks\n Shift:9hr Day Shift (36)\n Shift Information:9hr dayshift, start time varies based on department need, 8-5:30pm or 9-6:30pm. day off is based on department need\n Clinical Interviewing- yes- contact manager to review before offering\n On Call, Call Back Requirements:1 weekend of call per month Sat and Sun 6am-6:30pm 1 holiday on call per month\n Weekend Rotation:call only\n Holiday Requirements:1 holiday call per contract, holiday call is 6am-6:30pm\n Floating Requirements: may float to Main OR if skillset allows, would be crosstrained\n 3 Cysto Rooms- TURP, TURBT, Cysto, Ureteroscopy, Prostate Biopsies\n 5 RNs, 3 ST\n 8 Providers\n \n \n About Facility\n \n Level III Trauma Center\n Level III NICU\n Magnet Designation\n Comprehensive Stroke Center\n Beds: 933\n \n General Information\n \n Rooms: 3, but can be flexed up to 4 if the need arises\n \n Experience: RN - 2 years; CST – 2 years\n \n First-time traveler: Yes\n \n Patient Types:\n \n Adults only, mostly outpatient, approx. 10% are inpatient – vasectomies, catheter changes, cystos, ureteroscopy (TURP, prostate biopsies), clot evacuations, stent placement/removals\n \n Patient Ratios:\n \n RN: 1:1\n CST: 1:1\n \n Required Certifications:\n \n RN: BLS\n CST: BLS\n \n Skills required\n \n RN: experience with the above patient types, consents, positioning, prep, documentation, check-ins, patient transport to/from procedural rooms, cath changes (local sedation), specimen transport\n CST: experience with the above patient types, instrument set up/handling, scope set up/handling, assist physician during procedures, specimen transport\n \n Support on the Unit:\n \n Charge nurse, takes patients as needed\n Unit secretary, dayshift 7a-3:30p\n On call physician, 24/7\n RT, 24/7\n Phlebotomy to assist with peripheral blood draws\n \n Charting System/Equipment:\n \n EPIC - preferred\n Alaris\n Pyxis\n \n Floating:\n \n RN - May float to PACU. Will not be the primary RN, as they will only be helping with tasks which falls within their scope of practice. They will receive instructions from PACU RNs and will not be required to document\n Surg Tech – Could float to the Main OR in the downtime of the urology center\n \n Orientation:\n \n 1-3 days, based on comfort\n \n Scheduling:\n \n Weekend rotation: call only – see schedule\n Can we approve time off: Manager to approve all RTO\n On Call: will go into rotation with core staff – no weekdays or overnights\n \n RN: every 5 th weekend – 0600-1830 Saturday and Sunday\n CST: 1-2 weekends per month – 0600-1830 Saturday and Sunday\n \n Holiday Expectations: 1 summer/1 winter, 0600-1830\n AAH adheres to a fatigue policy where all staff, including travelers, cannot work more than 60 hours in a week or 5 consecutive 12 hour shifts\n \n Other notes or things you want us to check/verify:\n \n Scrub Color: procedural scrubs provided\n Must document pain level, before and after (1 hour for oral) giving pain medications - The pain score must also meet the pain score with nth medication order i.e. if a patient has a score of 8, the RN cannot give the Tylenol that is ordered for mild 1-3.
