This role is vital for providing excellent patient care in a fast-paced environment with a focus on teamwork and a positive attitude. Key Responsibilities Provide care to patients with conditions such as heart failure, atrial fibrillation, respiratory distress, and stroke. Monitor and interpret telemetry strips and manage various titratable medications, including Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Nitro. Collaborate with the charge nurse and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care. Assist with CPAP troubleshooting and patient monitoring as needed. Ensure adherence to hospital policies, including fingernail policies, and maintain a safe patient care environment. Unit Information Unit Capacity: 22 Beds Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:4 Support Staff Ratios: 1 Patient Care Tech for every 10 patients Requires floating to ICU based on experience and unit needs. Certifications Required BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) Shifts & Scheduling Shifts available: 12-hour shifts (0630-1900, 1830-0700) Cyclic scheduling with weekend requirements: every other weekend Holiday requirements: one major and one minor holiday per year Orientation & Training New hires will undergo a full day of department-specific orientation to facilitate a smooth transition into the unit.
