Maintenance TechnicianHot JobBrothers Of Mercy Nursing and Rehab Center - Clarence, NY 14031OverviewSalary Range $18.00 - $22.00 Hourly Position Type Full Time Job Shift EveningDescriptionMaintenance Technician – full time evenings, rotating weekendsThe Maintenance Technician supports the Plant Operations team by performing basic maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of the facility. This role works under the direction of senior maintenance staff and helps ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.What You'll Do:Assist with basic repairs and maintenance of equipment such as beds, wheelchairs, carts, and other facility items.Support maintenance staff with simple plumbing tasks, including unclogging drains, replacing fixtures, and assisting with minor repairs.Perform general building upkeep, including:Repairing furniture and doorsReplacing ceiling tilesBasic wall patching and touch-up workAssist with painting and minor cosmetic repairs as needed.Help with moving equipment, setting up rooms, and basic installations.Perform routine inspections of assigned areas and report maintenance concerns to supervisors.Assist with groundskeeping and outdoor maintenance, including maintaining areas around the building.Understand procedures, including:Reporting hazards promptlyMaintaining clean and safe work areasFollowing fire and safety protocolsMaintain resident privacy and confidentiality at all timesAttend required training and in-service programsProvide general support to the maintenance team on projects and daily tasksAssist in emergency situations, including helping relocate residents under directionSupport other Brothers of Mercy facilities as neededPerform other related duties as assignedWorking conditionsWorks throughout the facility, both indoors and outdoorsMay be exposed to weather conditions, odors, and cleaning chemicalsMay encounter residents, families, and visitors in various situationsMay work in tight spaces or at heights (with supervision and training)Equal Opportunity EmployerBrothers of Mercy prohibits discrimination against applicants and employees on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, marital status, citizenship, veterans' status, sexual orientation, predisposing genetic characteristics, domestic violence victim status, or any other legally protected status.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredPrior maintenance or labor experience helpful but not requiredWillingness to learn on the jobAbility to follow instructions and work as part of a teamGood communication and customer service skillsBasic problem-solving abilityDependable and willing to learn new skillsComfortable working in a healthcare environment with older adultsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shiftAbility to lift and carry equipment and suppliesAbility to safely use basic tools and equipment
