Opportunity Overview

• Academic Internal Medicine clinic situated within our Grand Rapids hospital
• Deliver comprehensive outpatient internal medicine services in a residency-based clinic environment
• This is a Full-Time position, at 0.9 FTE; clinical FTE with no mandatory precepting time
• Our Grand Rapids campus provides:
  • Adult healthcare services
  • General medical evaluations and annual physicals
  • Treatment for acute conditions, including respiratory and skin infections
  • Immunization services
  • Minor surgical procedures (e.g., stitches, lesion removals)
  • Options for online scheduling and video consultations
• Office hours are Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM
• Unrestricted call shared among all outpatient internal medicine physicians
• The office is staffed with 2 RNs, 4 MAs, 8 triage nurses, 2 BOCs, a care manager, and pharmacy support
• Call responsibilities are distributed among physicians in the medical group

Qualifications

• Open to recent graduates
• Must be board certified in a relevant clinical area or board eligible, with certification expected within five years of the start date (unless otherwise required by medical staff bylaws)
• Possession of an active Michigan medical license (or ability to obtain one)
• DEA license required
• ACLS/BLS certification (must be maintained)

Responsibilities

A typical day may involve:

• Providing direct patient care
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
• Engaging in teaching and mentoring activities
• Documenting patient information in Epic EMR
• Participating in quality improvement initiatives
• Supporting community health initiatives
