Bistro '66 Cook

Cook Position at FriendshipFriendship is looking for a Cook to join our new Bistro '66 team, located in Roanoke, VA. The Cook is responsible for preparing daily meals for residents, staff and visitors. They will monitor food handling, storage and serving.Shifts Available:Full Time 8 hour shifts – Hours of operation are 6:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. dailyRoles & Responsibilities:Correctly and safely uses kitchen equipment and utensils for food preparation, service and cleaningAbide by facility policies and procedures as well as laws and regulations related to food safety and sanitationPrepares quality, nutritious foods by following direction/assignments; prepares special foods by request on forecast sheetsFollows cleaning schedule of equipment and areas as assigned, to include walls, floors and cooking equipmentUses communication sheets to tell staff which foods have been prepared and seeks approval for any changes or substitutionsUnderstands and uses forecasting, work production and communication sheetsChecks tray line after meals for leftoversQualifications:High school diploma or equivalentCook experience preferredMust possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, visitors, and the general publicBenefits for Full Time positions include:401(k) retirement plan along with employer matchHealth InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceFlexible Spending AccountPaid Time OffCompany Paid Life InsuranceEducation AssistanceVoluntary insurance (additional life insurance, accident insurance, critical illness, short term disability)Employee Assistance ProgramFriendship values diversity.
