Staff Accountant

Staff AccountantWe are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting team in a temp-to-hire capacity. This role supports the Accounting Manager and works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate accounting processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, and comfortable working in a small office setting where flexibility and ownership are valued.Key Responsibilities:Record and reconcile banking transactions, including due to/due from activityPrepare and deposit incoming checks and ACH paymentsPerform bank and credit card reconciliationsAudit Accounts Payable entries for accuracyProvide detailed analysis and explanations of transactionsReview and assist with Sales & Use Tax filings and 1099sPrepare documentation for external auditorsFollow established accounting policies and proceduresSupport month-end close activitiesAssist with additional accounting and office duties as assignedQualifications:Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance2+ years of general accounting experienceStrong Excel proficiency (spreadsheets, reconciliations, analysis)High attention to detail and strong organizational skillsAbility to meet deadlines, particularly around month-end closeWork Environment:Hybrid role in Elkhorn, WIBusiness casual / casual environmentStandard hours starting at 7:00 or 8:00amRemote eligibility up to 2 days per week after 90 days (excluding month-end close periods)
