REIC Rentals is hiring an Entry-Level Commercial HVAC Technician (formal title: Field Service Technician) to support our growing Data Center team throughout Northeast Virginia . This is an excellent opportunity for recent HVAC trade school graduates or individuals looking to begin a career in commercial HVAC and mission-critical climate control. You’ll receive hands‑on training while working alongside experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technicians, helping install, maintain, troubleshoot, and service temporary climate control equipment that supports some of the world’s most advanced data centers. Drive company vehicles to customer job sites (acceptable driving record required). Assist with installing temporary commercial HVAC and climate control equipment. Help run gas hoses, ducting, ventilation, and electrical connections under technician supervision. Assist with equipment startup and commissioning. Support preventive maintenance on heating, cooling, dehumidification, ventilation, and environmental control equipment. Assist experienced technicians with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and control system issues. Read and learn to interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in both the shop and customer locations. Document completed work and inspections using company software. Follow all company safety procedures and strict customer data center safety protocols. Work closely with Commercial HVAC Service Technicians while learning the trade. Requirements Must be 21 years of age or older . Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Must be comfortable driving a company vehicle to customer sites throughout Northeast Virginia. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly. Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Comfortable working in mission‑critical data center environments. Strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Preferred Qualifications Recent graduate of an HVAC or Mechanical Technology program. EPA Certification (preferred but not required). Experience in HVAC, construction, mechanical work, or another skilled trade. Experience using hand and power tools. Basic knowledge of electrical, refrigeration, or mechanical systems. Rental equipment industry experience is a plus.
